Veritas-HHS seeks several Caseworkers to work at the 20th Judicial District Child Support Services of TN office located in Nashville; TN. Caseworkers are needed for the following departments: establishment, enforcement, intergovernmental, early intervention & IWO monitoring and locate/monitoring. 


 Job type: Full-time/In-person

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Starting rate: $18.00/hr

About this Position: 

This entry level Caseworker position provides Child Support Services by managing a caseload to obtain results for customers that include but are not limited to establishing paternity and medical and child support court orders and ensuring that parents meet their financial obligations. 


Our Training Process: 

We strive to provide the best possible training experience for all new hires. To ensure a strong foundation, all new employees will begin with a three-week training program led by our Chief Trainer. During this time, you will gain an overall understanding of the child support process as well as your department's policies and procedures.
Following this, your department's Team Lead will continue your training, going more in-depth to provide you with specialized knowledge related to your role. In addition, you will be enrolled in state new hire training and training specific to your department to further support your development.

Work Schedule: 

In office, Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

One-hour unpaid lunch break and two fifteen-minute paid breaks.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Analyze case information and take the next steps pursuant to State policies and procedures. 
  • Conduct interviews/collect DNA samples/negotiate consents/refer to community services. 
  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence related to a case. 
  • Work state system prompts to keep case information current and support automated case actions. 
  • Perform annual reviews on assigned cases. 
  • Perform initial locate activities. 
  • Track own performance through special reports. 
  • Receive, evaluate, and resolve customer problems and complaints. 
  • Update state system with appropriate new information and records detail of customer contacts. 
  • Take all actions available to resolve customer concerns. 
  • Other related duties as assigned. 


Requirements

Associate's degree or Paralegal Certification preferred. 

At least two years of experience in legal environment or government case processing; public contact experience preferred. 

Education can be substituted for years of experience. 

Demonstrated ability to communicate, participate in a team environment and commit to team and office goals and core values. 


Final candidates will be subject to a background check as part of the hiring process. The background check process requires submitting your fingerprints at one of the listed facilities. Please note that it may take up to two weeks to clear before your start date. During this time, you will also begin your online onboarding paperwork, which should be completed in a timely manner.
