Position Summary:

An NDT Assistant is responsible for supporting certified NDT Technicians in the performance of v arious non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection activities. The NDT Assistant will assist with equipment setup, job site preparation, documentation, material handling, and other tasks necessary to support inspection operations. Emphasis is placed on safety, quality of work, efficiency, and a willingness to learn NDT methods and procedures.

This position is considered an entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience and training in Non-Destructive Testing. ECS Integrity invests in employee development by providing the classroom training hours, structured on-the-job training (OJT), and mentorship required to advance through the NDT certification process. Motivated individuals can quickly progress toward Level I and Level II certifications while gaining practical field experience and establishing a rewarding career in the inspection industry.

Responsibilities:

  • NDT Assistant
    1. Actively participate in Company and Client safety programs and comply with all applicable safety policies, procedures, and industrial health and safety guidelines.
    2. Assist certified NDT Technicians with inspection and testing.
    3. Set up, organize, clean, and maintain NDT equipment and supplies.
    4. Assist with job site preparation, access, and cleanup activities.
    5. Assist with inspection documentation, JSA's, and other required paperwork.
    6. Transport, handle, and maintain equipment, tools, and materials as directed.
    7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    8. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
    9. Participate in training programs to develop NDT knowledge and skills.

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card.
  • Must abide by Company safety policies at all times.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, overtime, and travel as required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Previous industrial, construction, mechanical, inspection, or NDT experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Moving, carrying, and lifting objects in excess of 75 pounds.
  • Climbing and working from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 feet throughout a shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders and platforms up to 250 feet while utilizing appropriate fall protection equipment.
  • Ability to step into vehicles and onto equipment safely.
  • Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold.
  • Working in and around industrial hazards.
