Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer in Cleveland, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career scientists looking to gain hands-on laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment while supporting quality control operations.
What You'll Do
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality by performing analytical testing on raw materials and finished products. Working closely with production and quality teams, you will help support manufacturing operations through accurate testing and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality control testing on incoming raw materials and finished products.
  • Conduct wet chemistry analyses including viscosity, refractive index, titrations, boiling point determinations, and gas chromatography.
  • Evaluate foundry and sand-based products through strength, tensile, and compressibility testing.
  • Review and interpret test results to verify product quality and release materials for production.
  • Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and maintain accurate laboratory records.
  • Assist with laboratory housekeeping, inventory management, and equipment calibration.
  • Document and report nonconforming materials and quality concerns.
  • Follow established laboratory procedures, safety standards, and quality guidelines.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and supervisors to support manufacturing goals.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or another Natural Science discipline.
  • Laboratory experience gained through academic coursework, internships, research projects, or previous employment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established testing procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing and production-support environment.

Preferred:
  • Experience with analytical laboratory instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with quality control testing and laboratory documentation practices.
