Job description

The Research Services Directorate (RSD) at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) is currently seeking interested applicants for the position of Chief of Maintenance in the Research Systems Integration Branch (RSIB) (D105). This position leads and directs a team of government and contract technicians in the performance of maintenance and modification activities on multiple NASA aircraft platforms that support airborne research on NASA LaRC Aircraft.Qualifications:

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:

  • Leading or directing government and/or contractor personnel performing aircraft maintenance or modification activities and ensuring work complies with applicable maintenance, safety, and technical requirements;
  • Developing, implementing, tracking, and communicating aircraft maintenance, modification, or integration plans and schedules to coordinate personnel, resources, project requirements, and operational priorities;
  • Performing or overseeing maintenance and modification of aircraft systems, such as hydraulic, pneumatic, powerplant, electrical, or avionics systems, across multiple aircraft platforms.
