V2X Engineering is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting development of a diverse set of mission critical products including advanced airborne systems, podded communication link and sensor systems, armament equipment, suspension and release equipment, cutting edge system integrations, radar systems, cockpit displays, avionics, and more. Our Indianapolis facility also supports a variety of other product lines serving multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers providing the opportunity to work on a diverse set of programs and roles supporting the continued advancement of your career.
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of new products and test hardware, as well as the improvement of existing products. The engineer will utilize their mechanical engineering expertise during the proposal and concept generation phase, product development, production, and qualification testing phases of new product design. The engineer will have the opportunity to design creative solutions that meet product requirements. The engineer should be familiar with 3D modeling and drafting, and able be hands-on supporting production, integration, and testing. The engineer will develop solutions which leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS) products paired with custom hardware. The engineer must be a resourceful researcher engaging vendors, manufacturers, and SME's regarding design decisions. The engineer will take part in design reviews at both part, subsystem and system level including Peer Reviews, DFMAs, PDRs, and CDRs. The engineer will work closely with systems, electrical, test, and production engineers.
In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate leverages strong verbal and written communication to adapt to a wide variety of high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and courtesy. We are looking for an engineer that enjoys working on-location, embraces challenges, and has a passion to support our DoD customers and international allies.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program

Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
  • Ability to work onsite at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility with an Integrated Product Team being hands on with hardware.
  • Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Familiar with 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills.
  • Must have strong teaming skills, and good communication skills.

  • A minimum of 2 years professional work experience desired to include internships.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, (ASME Y14.5 standards)
