The Elliott School's Undergraduate Advising Office provides advising services to around 2,000 undergraduate students majoring in in International Affairs, Asian Studies, Middle East Studies, and Latin American and Hemispheric Studies. 
Position Specific Summary
Essential to the office's effective functioning, Student Front Desk Assistants work to ensure efficiency in front desk procedures. This position will answer phones; greet students, staff, and faculty that approach the front desk; notify advisors when students arrive for meetings; and answer questions from students, staff, faculty, and other parties who contact the advising office. The Student Front Desk Assistant will also maintain record-keeping, electronic filing, data collection, support special projects and events and
ensure office sanitation. Candidates for this position should be available for an interview between July 22th - 31st.
Standard Position Description
The student will be the first point of contact for visitors and customer service inquiries to the department. Tasks may include: greeting visitors, responding to in person, phone, email inquiries, provide customer service to other students, faculty, and staff; direct inquiries to the appropriate resources as needed; and assist with other office tasks. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.
