Leons Digital Marketing Intern (4-6 month contract)

Are you an aspiring digital marketer eager to work at the cutting edge of e-commerce, search, and AI innovation? Leon's is looking for a tech-savvy, data-driven Digital Marketing Intern to join our team at our North York headquarters for a 4-6 month contract.

Responsibilities Include:

SEO, GEO & AI Discovery Optimization

  • Optimize on-page web elements, text structures, and product descriptions to maximize Leon's visibility within AI-driven conversational search platforms.
  • Directly leverage advanced AI models to independently perform page-level audits, identify technical gaps, and generate optimized meta-data.
  • Update and manage local store listings to convert high-intent conversational searches into physical store traffic

Email Marketing Execution

  • Execute, schedule, and closely monitor email marketing campaigns within our digital platform as aligned with our fast-paced retail promotional calendar.
  • Configure and support A/B test frameworks (subject lines, layouts, send times) to optimize open rates and click-through metrics.

Analytics, Reporting & Collaboration

  • Monitor, analyze, and compile insights on web traffic patterns and channel revenue using GA4, Google Search Console, and Shopify.
  • Partner closely with internal marketing team members, and e-commerce stakeholders to ensure a cohesive customer journey that maintains corporate brand standards.

Qualifications:

  • Able to work fully In-Office at our North York headquarters (Jane St/Hwy 401 area), Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Degree/Diploma in Marketing, E-commerce, Business Administration, or a closely related technical field.
  • A strong understanding of digital marketing principles, with a specific interest in how LLMs (Large Language Models) process web infrastructure, semantic intent, and local search queries.
  • Exposure to Google Marketing Platforms (GA4, Search Console, Merchant Center) and e-commerce platforms like Shopify.
  • Comfort using conversational AI interfaces (Claude, ChatGPT) or specialized marketing AI suites to assist with content workflow and site audits.
  • Foundational familiarity with HTML/CSS is considered a major asset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the organizational discipline to manage overlapping project timelines independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (ability to structure datasets, use VLOOKUPs, or filter metrics seamlessly).

Working Requirements:

  • In Office at our Toronto/North York Home Office (9am - 5pm Monday-Friday)

Compensation:

Rate for this position is $20/hr
