Job Summary

Digital Marketer

Mississauga Convention Centre

Full-time

In-Office | Mississauga, ON, Canada

About the Role

Mississauga Convention Centre is looking for a hands-on, creative, and results-driven Digital Marketer who can take ownership of our marketing from start to finish.

We are not looking for someone who only manages social media. We need a do-it-all marketer who is comfortable working in a busy convention, banquet, hospitality, and event venue environment and can manage everything from digital advertising and social media to website updates, marketing materials, menus, signage, and promotional campaigns.

The ideal candidate is someone who can think strategically, create compelling content, make website edits, manage advertising campaigns, and jump in wherever marketing support is needed. You should be creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced venue where priorities can change quickly.

Experience in a convention centre, banquet hall, hotel, catering company, hospitality business, or event venue is strongly preferred.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Digital Marketing & Advertising

  • Plan, manage, and optimize digital marketing campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), and other platforms.

  • Create, monitor, and optimize Google and Meta advertising campaigns to generate leads and bookings.

  • Track campaign performance, budgets, conversions, leads, and return on advertising spend.

  • Identify opportunities to improve online visibility, website traffic, inquiries, and event bookings.

  • Stay current with digital marketing trends, advertising platforms, and industry best practices.

Website Management

  • Make hands-on edits and updates to our website without relying on an outside agency for every change.

  • Update event information, promotions, photos, menus, packages, pricing, and other website content.

  • Ensure website content is accurate, current, visually appealing, and consistent with our brand.

  • Identify website issues and coordinate solutions when technical support is required.

  • Help improve website content and user experience to increase inquiries and conversions.

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Manage Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant social media platforms.

  • Develop and maintain a content calendar covering weddings, corporate events, conferences, social events, catering, venue promotions, and special events.

  • Create engaging posts, graphics, videos, reels, stories, and promotional content.

  • Capture and organize photos and videos from events when required.

  • Develop creative campaigns that showcase the venue, food, service, rooms, weddings, corporate events, and overall guest experience.

Marketing Materials & Brand Management

  • Create, edit, and maintain menus, promotional flyers, digital advertisements, tradeshow banners, signage, brochures, presentations, event materials, and other marketing collateral.

  • Make last-minute edits and corrections to marketing materials when needed.

  • Ensure all marketing materials are professionally designed, accurate, and on-brand.

  • Work closely with the sales and events teams to create materials that support their needs.

  • Maintain consistency across our website, social media, advertising, print materials, signage, and venue communications.

Online Reputation & Listings

  • Manage and monitor our Google Business Profile and online presence.

  • Monitor and respond appropriately to Google reviews and customer feedback.

  • Help maintain and strengthen the Convention Centre's online reputation.

  • Ensure business information, photos, services, and other online listings remain accurate and up to date.

Sales & Event Marketing

  • Work closely with the sales, event, and management teams to promote upcoming events and generate new business.

  • Create marketing campaigns for weddings, corporate events, conferences, tradeshows, social events, and other revenue-generating opportunities.

  • Support sales with promotional materials, digital campaigns, presentations, and online content.

  • Attend venue events when required to capture content and understand the customer experience.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor website traffic, advertising performance, social media engagement, leads, inquiries, and conversions.

  • Prepare regular marketing performance reports.

  • Use data and analytics to determine what is working and where improvements are needed.

General Marketing

  • Assist with email marketing, newsletters, promotions, and other campaigns.

  • Monitor competitors and marketing activity within the hospitality, banquet, and events industry.

  • Bring new marketing ideas to the table and take initiative to implement them.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced venue environment.

Who We're Looking For

  • We are looking for someone who is hands-on and can do it all.

  • You should be someone who can move comfortably between a Google Ads campaign, a website update, a social media post, a menu correction, and a tradeshow banner — and make sure everything looks professional and gets done properly.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on digital marketing experience.

  • Experience working in a convention centre, banquet hall, hotel, catering, hospitality, or event venue is strongly preferred.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Ads and Google Business Profile.

  • Experience creating and managing Meta Ads and Facebook/Instagram campaigns.

  • Strong social media management and content creation skills.

  • Ability to independently edit and update websites.

  • Experience working with website CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar systems.

  • Strong graphic design skills and the ability to create and edit professional marketing materials.

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design software.

  • Ability to edit and prepare menus, banners, signage, flyers, promotional materials, presentations, and digital graphics.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing analytics and campaign performance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail — especially when it comes to spelling, pricing, menus, dates, event information, and branding.

  • Creative, proactive, organized, and able to work independently.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy event environment.

  • Strong understanding of branding and visual consistency.

  • Experience with email marketing and CRM systems is an asset.

  • Photography and video/content creation skills are an asset.

  • Strong understanding of the hospitality, weddings, corporate events, and convention industry is preferred.

The Ideal Candidate

  • The person we are looking for is not someone who needs to be told what to do at every step.

  • You are a self-starter who sees something that needs to be fixed and takes care of it. You can identify a marketing opportunity, create the campaign, build the content, update the website, run the advertising, track the results, and make improvements.

  • You are equally comfortable working behind a computer and being on-site at a busy event venue. You understand that in the events industry, things move quickly and marketing sometimes requires immediate changes.

  • Most importantly, you take ownership, pride, and accountability for your work.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Full-time employment

  • Opportunity to work at one of the GTA's premier banquet and event venues

  • Professional and collaborative team environment

  • Opportunities for growth and development

  • Exposure to high-profile weddings, corporate events, conferences, tradeshows, and special events

  • Opportunity to have a direct impact on the growth and marketing strategy of the venue

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday

  • Evening and weekend availability may occasionally be required for events and content creation

  • Holidays as required

How to Apply

If you are a creative, hands-on marketer who can do it all — from digital advertising and social media to website edits, graphic design, marketing materials, and event promotion — we want to hear from you.

Please submit your resume along with examples of your work, portfolio, website projects, social media campaigns, or other marketing materials you have created.

Mississauga Convention Centre is an equal opportunity employer.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
