Job description

Position Summary:The Field Environmental Compliance Specialist - Air is an entry level field position that provides environmental and regulatory guidance to all affected departments. Primary duties include: interpretation, summarization, and implementation of environmental regulations and requirements, submission of applicable state or federally-required reports, creation and presentation of appropriate guidance and guidance documents, and auditing of regulated processes and activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field-based inspections and audits of activities and operations.
  • Conduct stack test and emissions testing observations, review reports, and provide notifications as needed.
  • Generate and/or manage generation of appropriate inspection and audit records.
  • Attend field and office meetings with operations groups to ensure that appropriate environmental and regulatory considerations and requirements are upheld.
  • Test / monitor various environmental media utilizing handheld field instrumentation.
  • Respond to environmental incidents and coordinate remedial activities as necessary; 24/7 emergency response capacity expected.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel and/or contractors.
  • Conduct training of environmental topics in various forums.
  • Contribute to the development of internal guidance documents.
  • Communicate with landowners on environmental topics as necessary, in conjunction with the appropriate land department personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's in environmental, engineering, or related field

Minimum Experience:2+ years of regulatory, environmental, or EHS compliance experience

Oil & Gas Exp Required: Preferred

Skills: Safety and environmental compliance mindset; project management and problem solving skills; strong technical writing ability; regulatory research and interpretation ability; effective communication, multi-tasking, and time management skills; ability to work in small and large team settings.

Equipment/Machinery:Optical gas imaging (OGI) camera and other related technology as needed, 4-Gas Meter, Methane Meter, Water Meter, Radiation Meter, Noise Meter, Soil Conductivity Meter, Optical Gas Imaging Camera, PID -- VOC Monitor, SiteView, Microsoft Office applications
