Electrical Design Engineer

Contract to Direct Hire position (based on good performance reviews, position will convert)

Framingham, MA area 01702

  • 30-45 miles radius around Framingham

Pay Rate: $29-$30/hr


Skillset:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Associates Degree with working experience
  • Interest in electrical design, utilities, and/or power delivery
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Interest in developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards


Insight Global is hiring a Design Engineer to join their team. This engineer will aide in the upgrades of a major energy providers distribution grids. They will be in charge of scheduling and developing construction plans for the project work. This person will create work packages, create construction plans, bill material and will be in charge of the scope or work schedule. This person will be in charge of owning their own field work where they will be taking notes, pictures, measurements and will ultimately be in charge of the designing the project construction plans. The work will be developed using Geographic Info­rmation Systems, CAD tools, Work Management Systems, and other client systems. The project work will require performing engineering calculations that may include: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices.
