The role emphasizes hands-on experimental research, leadership in project execution, and fostering a safe and productive laboratory environment. The appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of sponsored research funding.

Key Responsibilities

Lead research projects in embedded systems security under the supervision of the PI, including proposal development and preparation of high-quality publications in top computer security, privacy, embedded systems, sensing, and networking venues.

Pursue research topics such as protecting embedded systems from vulnerabilities rooted in sensor physics, studying the impact of physical signals (e.g., acoustics, lasers, electromagnetic emissions) on AI and sensing systems, and innovating hardware-software co-design for privacy and integrity.

Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in experimental design, data analysis, paper writing, and professional development; provide apprenticeship-style training in laboratory methods and embedded security research.

Support project management by tracking milestones and deadlines, assisting with acquisition of laboratory resources, preparing project updates, and coordinating with the PI on active research activities.

Contribute to the intellectual community of the Archimedes Center by helping organize seminars, workshops, retreats, and research reading groups.

Foster an inclusive lab culture, promote collaboration, and encourage shared learning among team members.

Secondary Responsibilities

Occasionally guest lecture or assist with course material development under the guidance of the PI.

Contribute to student recruitment by participating in graduate admissions review and outreach activities.

Reimplement or replicate lab experiments to gain additional research and teaching experience.

Support general laboratory operations and administrative tasks as needed.

This position is 100% externally funded and will be reappointed on an annual basis based on the continued availability of funding.
