Back Office Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe (Pre-Med / Pre-PA Opportunity)

Job Type: Full-Time
Setting: Outpatient Medical Practice
Experience Level: Entry Level – On-the-Job Training Provided

About the Position

We are seeking a motivated Back Office Medical Assistant who is currently pre-med, pre-PA, or pursuing another healthcare career and is eager to gain meaningful clinical experience. This position offers hands-on exposure to patient care, medical documentation, and provider support, making it an excellent opportunity for someone planning to apply to medical or physician assistant school.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and eager to learn. No prior scribing experience is required — training will be provided.

Work Location

This position will require working between two office locations:

  • Royal Oak, MI

  • Detroit, MI

Candidates must have reliable transportation and flexibility to work at both locations as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the provider with clinical workflow and patient care

  • Scribe in real time during patient encounters

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient intake

  • Document patient history, procedures, and treatment plans in the EMR

  • Assist with minor procedures when appropriate

  • Coordinate clinical tasks and provider support throughout the day

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation

Ideal Candidate

  • Currently pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, or other health professional track in a gap year

  • Strong interest in gaining clinical exposure and mentorship
