As a Lead Turbine Design Engineer, you will drive the technical execution of hydro turbine projects from initial design through to commissioning. You will work in a multidisciplinary and global environment where your technical expertise ensures the reliability and performance of our hydroelectric solutions for leading customers. Responsabilités essentielles

  • Ingénierie de conception : Réaliser les calculs et la conception de composants mécaniques complexes. Assurer la validité technique en respectant les normes de fiabilité, de sécurité et de qualité.
  • Pilotage technique : Analyser les spécifications, évaluer les risques et exécuter les phases de conception en synergie avec le laboratoire d’essais hydrauliques.
  • Leadership de conception : Diriger les revues de conception, superviser et valider le travail des dessinateurs, et assurer la cohérence des livrables techniques.
  • Support & Expertises : Agir comme point de contact technique auprès de la chaîne d’approvisionnement et des équipes de chantier. Résoudre les non-conformités et recommander des solutions pour optimiser les performances sur site.
  • Collaboration globale : Travailler avec nos centres d’excellence à l'échelle mondiale pour partager les meilleures pratiques et harmoniser nos façons de faire.
  • Mentorat : Soutenir le développement technique de l’équipe en participant au transfert de connaissances et en accompagnant les ingénieurs plus juniors.

Qualifications requises

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique.
  • Membre de l’OIQ
  • Minimum de 5 à 10 ans d’expérience pertinente en conception mécanique (turbines, machines tournantes ou industrie lourde).
  • Solides compétences en résistance des matériaux et connaissances des procédés de fabrication (soudage, usinage, inspection).
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais.
  • Autorisation de travail au Canada sans restriction.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design Engineering: Perform calculations and mechanical design for complex components. Ensure technical validity while meeting standards for reliability, safety, and quality.
  • Technical Planning: Analyze technical specifications, evaluate risks, and perform design phases in synergy with the Hydraulic Test Lab.
  • Design Leadership: Lead design reviews, supervise and validate the work of draftsmen, and ensure the consistency of technical deliverables.
  • Support & Expertise: Act as a technical point of contact for the supply chain and site teams. Resolve non-conformities and recommend solutions to optimize on-site performance.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with our global Centers of Excellence to share best practices and harmonize our methods.
  • Mentorship: Support the team's technical development by participating in knowledge transfer initiatives and guiding junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Member of the OIQ.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design (turbines, rotating machinery, or heavy industry).
  • Strong skills in strength of materials and knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, inspection).
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in Canada.
