Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled concrete laborers for an exciting project in Fort Collins, CO. The concrete laborer supports the completion of projects by working closely with the carpenters, laborer, and other trades on site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety minded, recognize and report hazards and danger zones. Learn how to complete a THA with tool partner.
  • Able to muck on concrete pours, pull and set up slick line, dig and clean footing bottoms, work around equipment and grade work.
  • Grade and compact ABC and soils.
  • Fuel equipment.
  • Clean and stock finisher tools.
  • Run chipping guns, water hoses.
  • Familiar with generators and air compressors.
  • Learn to vibrate concrete in decks, walls, and columns.
  • Trained in the safe use of ladders, scissor lift, boom lift, and others.
  • Set up tremies and aid pour crew.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have at least 4+ years in commercial concrete labor
  • Must be reliable and have transportation, able to work the day or night shift. Eager to learn how to work safely.
  • Must have previous experience as general laborer in construction industry.
  • OSHA 10 Training required as well as McCarthy New Employee Training (NET).
  • Report all safety incidents to superintendent.
  • Participate in crew Task Hazard Analysis (THA) daily and learn importance of planning work and following that plan.
  • Learn how to work in a clean, organized manner.
  • Able to lift 50lbs., including being able to bend, twist, climb - not afraid of hard work, sweat, or heights.
  • General knowledge of hand tools (shovels, picks, rakes, wheelbarrows, hammers, and more).
  • Ability to take and follow instructions from journeymen.

The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience. Pay Range: $24.00- $30.00 P/H.
