Position Summary
We are seeking an Associate Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Cudahy, WI. This role provides design, drawings, specifications, instructions and other data required for the manufacture, construction, operation, or erection of machines, tools, equipment, buildings or facilities of a degree of simplicity to complexity. Performs experimental developmental or shop follow-up work under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Makes design layouts, utilizing the principles of stress analysis, mechanics, kinematics, machine and tool design, strength of materials, physics, mathematics, and other physical sciences.
a) Work from concepts, sketches, layouts, instruction, specifications or any other requirements.
b) Be responsible for accuracy, mathematical computations, and functional correctness of designs.
2. Makes assembly and detailed drawings, prepare bills of material, specifications sheets, procedures, instructions, and other technical data.
3. Review assigned projects and investigates routine problems concerning machinery, tools, equipment, building, or facilities.
a) Attend tryouts in shop regarding new methods of manufacture, job or processes.
b) Recommend, redesign, repair, or rebuild to overcome difficulties, correct improper function or meet requirements.
4. Work with other engineers, designers, draftsmen, and/or representatives of other departments on matters involving requirements or performance of tools, machinery, equipment, building, or facilities.
5. Maintain job-working records and prepare reports and correspondence. Responsible for accuracy, mathematical computations of functions correctness of work performed.
6. Works on assignments as given and directed.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 1-3 years of experience in engineering design and/or project management.
