Job description

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for a temp-to-hire position at a food production company in Portland, OR. Pay Rate:

$23-25/hour


Overview:

In this position, you will support all stages of food production by monitoring and documenting sanitation, safety, and quality control processes, performing laboratory tests and inspections, reporting non-conformities, maintaining sample and equipment organization, and ensuring products meet established standards through detailed oversight and collaboration.


Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 5:30am to 2:00pm


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, record, and support plant sanitation, personal hygiene, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP programs throughout the production process.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, ATP swabbing, allergen testing, and process checks during production and packaging to ensure product integrity, accurate labeling, and net weights.
  • Collect and test samples of raw materials and finished products for microbiological and organoleptic quality, and schedule external laboratory testing as needed.
  • Maintain and organize retention samples, standardize and calibrate laboratory equipment, and manage inventory of chemicals and laboratory supplies.
  • Report variances and non-conformities to supervisors or managers, evaluate product returns, and assist with dispositions and shelf-life extensions.
  • Provide independent oversight of production processes for compliance with company policies, participate in special projects, and support other quality-related assignments as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of food QC experience preferred.
