Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the Service department with various system movement tasks including receiving, unpacking, packing, stocking, and inventory accuracy of Teledyne FLIR products as well as some technical tasks including sub-assembly and system level testing, troubleshooting, repair, and rework. This position will interface with Customer Service Representatives and Service Supervisors on problem issues that arise. The role may also assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the service process and continued process improvements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Material handling:

  • Knowledge of standard ESD procedures

  • Strong computer skills to ensure data accuracy

  • Safely operate stand-up lift vehicle

  • Build and test opto-mechanical assemblies:

  • Operate test equipment

  • Wire harness routing

  • Follow standard procedures and work instructions

  • Calibration/Optical Alignment:

  • Mechanical/electrical adjustments

  • Image optimization

  • Inspection:

  • Verify that work is complete and correct

  • Inspect own work for completeness and correctness

  • Troubleshoot to subassembly level.

  • Technician will also be required to carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the company from time to time

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required, AA degree in electronic technology or equivalent training (such as military training) preferred.

  • Attention to Detail is critical to ensure accuracy in Contracts, Proposals, and other responsibilities.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork skills are required to lead and work in a team environment and to establish priorities and achieve results.

  • Must have strong Communication Skills-oral, written & listening to ensure effective communication with team members, customers, and organizational leadership.

  • Strong Organization, Planning & Execution skills are essential to develop and execute, plan and maintain responsibilities, schedules, forecasts, projects and changes in priorities.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity.

  • Detail oriented and able to research and resolve moderately complex issues.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, work instructions and maintenance manuals.

  • Computer literacy and Microsoft Office familiarity; able to locate files in a network environment and save files to a specific location.

  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Required to pass certification to safely use on-site stand-up lift vehicle.

  • SAP experience desirable.

  • Work on assignments where independent action and moderate degree of initiative are required to resolve problems and recommend actions

Other Qualification:

  • Basic electronics understanding with 0 - 1 years related technician experience preferred (entry-level involving moderately simple repetitive assembly, testing, troubleshooting skills).

  • Ability to use drawings and measuring instruments.

  • Some ability to use equipment and troubleshoot.

  • Some mechanical background or understanding.
