Job Summary: 
We are seeking an Entry-Level Ski Lift Electrical Technician to join our lift maintenance team. This position is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of electrical systems who is ready to learn and grow in a hands-on mountain operations environment. You’ll assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical components that power and control aerial and surface lift systems. 

Job Specifications:  

  • Starting Wage: $22.99/hr - $27.05/hr 
  • Employment Type: Year Round 
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Early mornings, weekends, holidays, nights and overtime shifts may be required
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age 
  • Housing Availability: No
  • Working Conditions:  
    • Physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and kneeling

    • Outdoor alpine environment with exposure to extreme weather 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with routine inspection and maintenance of lift electrical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and control panels
  • Support troubleshooting of basic electrical and electronic issues under the supervision of experienced technicians
  • Learn to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service manuals
  • Help maintain lift safety systems, communication lines, and warning systems
  • Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance and repair activities
  • Work closely with lift operations and maintenance teams to support daily lift readiness
  • Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in training to gain knowledge of ANSI B77.1 standards, OSHA regulations, local regulations and Vail Resorts safety standards, policies and procedures
  • Assist with off-season maintenance projects, testing, and system upgrades 

Job Requirements: 

  • Basic understanding of electrical theory, components, and safety practices
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Comfortable working outdoors in alpine weather and at heights
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members
  • Must have or ability to obtain a valid US driver’s license
  • Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferred 

The expected pay range is $22.99/hr - $27.05/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
