Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (No Rotating Shifts!)

About the Role

We are seeking a General Laborer to join our Metal Finishing & Deburring Department. This is an excellent entry-level manufacturing opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working with metal parts, and being part of a fast-paced production environment.

The General Laborer will assist with the finishing and deburring of manufactured metal components by removing sharp edges, burrs, excess material, and surface imperfections. This position also supports part cleaning, inspection, material handling, and preparation of completed parts for the next stage of production or shipment.

This role provides an opportunity to gain valuable manufacturing experience while learning metal finishing techniques, quality standards, measuring tools, and safe operation of hand and power tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform deburring, grinding, sanding, filing, and other metal finishing processes on manufactured parts.
  • Remove sharp edges, burrs, excess material, and surface imperfections from finished components.
  • Use hand tools, grinders, sanders, files, and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Clean and prepare metal parts for additional production processes, inspection, packaging, or shipment.
  • Visually inspect finished parts for defects, sharp edges, damage, or other quality concerns.
  • Learn to read and understand basic manufacturing blueprints, work orders, and production documentation.
  • Perform basic measurements and quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices as trained.
  • Load, unload, move, sort, and organize raw materials and finished parts.
  • Assist with counting, labeling, packaging, and preparing completed parts for the next stage of production.
  • Follow established finishing specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment and follow all company safety procedures.
  • Assist other employees within the Metal Finishing & Deburring Department as production needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Requirements

  • Required:
    • High school diploma/GED and/or relevant work experience.
    • Previous manufacturing, metal finishing, grinding, or deburring experience is helpful but not required.
    • Ability and willingness to safely use hand tools and power tools.
    • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface imperfections and quality concerns.
    • Ability to accurately follow verbal and written work instructions.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with grinding, sanding, filing, and finishing parts.
    • Ability to safely work around machinery, tools, metal materials, and moving equipment.
    • Ability to become Tow Motor certified through IGS if required for the position; must hold a valid driver’s license.
    • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
