Join our Quality team as a Technical Writer and play a key role in supporting compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence within our MRO environment. In this role, you will develop, revise, and maintain critical technical documentation, including manuals, procedures, and quality control documents. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in technical writing, with the ability to translate complex processes and regulatory requirements into clear, accurate documentation. Aerospace industry experience is preferred.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop, revise, and maintain MRO and Quality technical documentation, including the Repair Station Manual, policies, procedures, and quality records.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather, verify, and organize technical and regulatory information.
  • Write, edit, and format documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance with FAA FAR 145 regulations and industry standards.
  • Organize content in a logical, user-friendly format and incorporate diagrams, illustrations, and photographs when applicable.
  • Review and update documentation to reflect changes in regulations, procedures, equipment, and best practices.
  • Maintain controlled document systems and ensure current revisions are properly distributed, retained, and archived in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with operational departments to ensure procedures accurately reflect approved maintenance practices and repair station processes.
  • Support maintenance and revision of foreign authority supplements and customer-required procedural documentation as assigned
  • Manage document revisions, version control, archiving, and distribution in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct detailed reviews and internal verification checks to ensure documentation of quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory Compliance teams to address discrepancies and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Research applicable regulations, standards, manuals, and technical data and coordinate interpretation with Quality and Regulatory Compliance personnel.
  • Incorporate approved feedback from internal and external stakeholders into controlled documentation revisions.
  • Maintain accurate records and files related to documentation updates, revisions, and approvals.
  • Utilize computer systems and communicate with customers, manufacturers, and vendors to obtain and manage technical information related to maintenance activities. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Aviation Maintenance, or related field; or equivalent combinations of education and aviation industry experience.
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other document publishing tools.
  • Experience with document management systems and version control practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience as a Technical Writer in the aviation, aerospace, or MRO industry.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, including FAR 145 requirements and repair station procedures.
  • Understanding aviation maintenance and repair processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining compliance-driven technical documentation.
  • Experience with SharePoint, LMS, document management systems, PDF markup, and workflow systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:  

  • Telephone, personal computer, multiple printers, copy machine, and shredder.
  • May be required to operate additional office equipment not explicitly listed in this description as needed to perform job duties effectively. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

  • Maybe required to work in both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs to dictate.
  • Aircraft maintenance hangar, maintenance offices, flightline.
  • Protective Equipment Required: None
