Job description

Job Summary
A Senior Manufacturing Engineer provides manufacturing engineering leadership and mentoring to entry-level Manufacturing Engineers. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will ensure engineering teams are aligned with the business strategy of the department/company. They will also represent manufacturing as a leader/team member to support continuous improvement through the role of core team member and/or continuous improvement leader. Additional responsibilities include using technical expertise in support of daily operations in production by defining, measuring, analyzing, coordinating, implementing, and following- up on projects and activities designed to increase or improve safety, quality, productivity, and/or capacity. Apply accepted engineering practices and project management techniques to assigned daily tasks and projects. Analyze situations, break them down into key components and milestones, conduct fact-finding missions, provide detailed plans of action, and implement plans as assigned. Provide guidance to other engineers and technicians.
Salary Range: $100,000-130,000
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provides manufacturing engineering leadership and mentoring to entry-level Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Understands and possesses a business acumen to prioritize workload to align with business goals.
  • Develop, enhance, and implement systems that increase efficiency and optimize all phases of service or production processes, from design to manufacturing.
  • Develop plant standards, technical instructions, and procedures in order to ensure that all metallurgical activities are in alignment with corporate standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop systems to identify and measure key performance indicators (uptime, downtime, scrap, yield).
  • Evaluate and identify key site capacity constraints and provide timely solutions to resolve them.
  • Uses Lean tools to measure, understand, and improve process variability and efficiency.
  • Manages related capital projects adhering to budget and schedule constraints
  • Provides ongoing technical support for manufacturing operations in aseptic filling
  • Analyzes daily production and processing problems, identifies, and implements shop-floor continuous improvement projects.
  • Establishes engineering tracking tools and enforces their usage through fact-driven communication between all stakeholders (e.g., operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, technology center, suppliers, etc.).
  • Arrange maintenance and drive technical activities for cGMP-compliant manufacturing improvement
  • Works with production personnel to establish or revise work instructions and procedures used in the production environment.
  • Ensures timely completion of the tasks and support as assigned by management.
  • Maintains awareness of current pharmaceutical manufacturing needs and standards and communicates possible programs/projects to achieve the goal of facility being a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical

  • Manages activities of various vendors for projects to eliminate any potential conflict and ensures that vendors comply with all the safety rules and regulations.
  • Prepares URS, Risk Assessments, and Safety Assessments associated with the support of and execution of projects.
  • Prepares specifications for projects to include all dimensions, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical considerations.
  • Works effectively with Operations and Quality to ensure project results are compliant with site and industry regulations and guidelines.
