JOB PURPOSE 

The Sewing Machine Operator I is responsible for operating sewing machines to perform basic garment sewing operations. This role ensures efficient and precise sewing of various fabric and textile materials, contributing to the production of high-quality products. 

STRUCTURE 

The Entry-Level Sewing Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager and collaborates with Quality Control Inspectors and Production Planners. They may receive guidance from more experienced operators. 

RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Operating sewing machines to perform basic garment sewing operations efficiently and accurately. 

  • Conducting basic maintenance and troubleshooting of sewing machines to ensure optimal functionality. 

  • Collaborating with team members to meet production targets and quality standards. 

  • Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. 

  • Assisting in training new sewing machine operators or apprentices as needed. 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred. 

  • Basic experience or training in sewing machine operation. 

  • Familiarity with different fabric/textile materials is a plus. 

  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered.Â
