Advanced Assembly, Inc. (AAI), located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add an Automation Technician I to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products, including the Captioned Telephone (CapTel). Our exceptional reputation has been earned through the years, based on production capability, reliability, and quality.
These full-time position offer a EITHER a first shift schedule of Monday - Thursday 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM and Friday 5:30 AM - 9:30 AM OR second shift schedule of Monday - Thursday, 2:45 PM - 12:45 AM, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. Job Summary: The Automation Technician I is responsible for running, maintaining, and fine-tuning programs for all equipment used in related machines used for circuit board assembly in the assigned area. Primarily, this is an entry-level Technician position.
Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Understand and follow all applicable safety and quality system procedures.
  • Monitor the quality of the products and adjust the machines to comply with quality standards.
  • Assist other Technicians in unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and proto-types as necessary.
  • Monitor the machines during production, resolve issues, and log results.
  • Monitor the processes on the line to ensure they are being followed.
  • Provide general assistance to the workflow in the department as required.
  • Work on the line to fill in for Machine Operators, as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor.

  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit board automation is a plus.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine circuit detail, and tones.
  • Good verbal and written skills to communicate well in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to fill out daily records and logs.
