Job description

CHAIR, FACULTY is needed to perform the following duties:
  • Cover all material defined in the course description and syllabus; meet course schedule expectations per the academic calendar
  • Demonstrate considerable theoretical and applied understanding of subjects including Machine Learning, AI, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Probability and Statistics, Python, R, and SQL
  • Deliver course content using active and project-based learning methodologies; develop effective assessments measuring applied student learning
  • Maintain LMS with updated syllabi, materials, and grades; provide timely feedback on assignments and projects
  • Use mid- and end-of-quarter evaluations to continuously improve course delivery
  • Attend faculty meetings; collaborate with faculty to improve student outcomes; hold minimum 1-2 hours of office hours per weekday.
  • Design and develop courses including Data Science, Applied AI Tools in Business, Data Analytics and Visualization, Applied Python for Data Analysis, Data Engineering, and Cloud-Based AI Solutions
  • Evaluate and adjust degree curriculum through annual program audits and biannual PAC feedback; serve on the curriculum committee
  • Oversee course supervision; guide course development using project-based and active learning methodologies
  • Assist Corporate Relations in evaluating Enterprise Projects; evaluate student Capstone project proposals for technical rigor
  • Manage department budget; monitor overall student performance across the program
  • Build mentor relationships with students individually and in groups; address student complaints and problems respectfully
  • Identify areas for personal development; collaborate with faculty to continuously improve course offerings and student outcomes
  • Provide critical feedback to instructors on teaching effectiveness; conduct peer observations and faculty mentoring
  • Participate in evaluating and interviewing teaching candidates; contribute to committee membership and academic metrics reporting
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, conflict resolution, and ethical conduct

Bachelor's Degree is required in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Engineering Management.
SCHEDULE:
  • Exempt position
  • 40+ hours a week
  • Occasional evenings and weekends, with advanced notice

REPORTS TO: Vice President, Academics
LOCATION: On-site
PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS:
