Job Type: Part-time / Seasonal / Entry-Level (Ages 15+)
Pay Range: $10.00 – $15.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience)
About Mt. Gilead

Mt. Gilead Camp and Conference Center is a Christian girls' summer camp and year-round retreat center located on a beautiful wooded property in Stroudsburg. We are a mission-driven non-profit that operates with a "family-first" mentality. Our team enjoys a healthy, encouraging, and supportive atmosphere where we work together to provide a premier experience for our guests and campers.
Role Summary
We are seeking a hardworking, reliable high school or college student (male or female) for an entry-level Maintenance & Operations Assistant position. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys manual labor, working outdoors, and learning new trades.
(Female applicants can receive free additional training in Lifeguarding, CPR & First Aid if they are interested in additional work during our all-girls summer camp program.)
No prior experience is required. We provide comprehensive on-site training for all technical skills, equipment operation, and safety protocols, + workers' comp and flexible schedules are provided.
Primary Responsibilities

As part of our site team, you will assist with the upkeep and beautification of our facilities. Key duties include:
  • Landscaping & Grounds: Mowing, weed whacking, raking, mulching, and planting.
  • Facility Care: Gutter cleaning, pressure washing buildings and walkways, and vehicle/fleet cleaning.
  • Aesthetics: Painting and staining (decks, fences, cabins) to maintain property appeal.
  • Property Maintenance: Pond/pool maintenance and basic pest/weed control.
  • Forestry & Woodwork: Tree trimming, log splitting, wood chipping, and supervised chainsaw operation.
  • Logistics: Trash management and learning to operate UTVs/ATVs for property transport.
  • Animal Care: Assisting in the horse barn with stall cleaning and general maintenance.
  • Hospitality Support: Assisting with kitchen tasks and hosting retreat groups as needed.
  • Adventure Elements: Potential to be trained in assisting with high ropes courses and the climbing wall.

  • Local Candidate: Must live within commuting distance of 440 Rinker Road.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have a dependable ride to and from the property.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
