Job description

We are in search of a Loan Accounting Intern to join our Loan Accounting department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters). This temporary position reports to the VP, Loan Accounting and is responsible for performing entry-level loan accounting activities including processing fund requests, rate changes and fee reconciliations. Training will be provided to set the successful candidate up for success in performing the duties of this role. We offer a flexible, 20-25 hours a week schedule and many learning opportunities.

Compensation Information

$22.00 per hour
Job Requirements

  • Process funding requests, receipts, and rate changes for AgWest's portfolio of loans.
  • Provide accounting for loans purchased and/or sold by AgWest.
  • Communicate with other lending institutions regarding AgWest's loan accounting activities, to ensure compliance with the loan documents.
  • Build unused fee reconciliations history in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Manage the communication flow of work queue requests and group email to effectively assign work and complete requests.
  • Provide back-up support for all Loan Accounting processes and transactions, general ledger entries and related reconciliations, as assigned.
  • Assist with special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, accounting or related field
  • Preference for students in their Junior or Senior year
  • Communication and analytical aptitude
  • Teamwork skills demonstrated through involvement in extracurricular activities and/or outside work experience
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent time management skills with a proactive approach to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Completion of the online application including uploading transcripts (unofficial okay) and a cover letter (not required, but recommended)
