Job description

Standard Job Description The Work Support F-35 flight training and simulation operations at Misawa Air Base, Japan. Provide technical and operational support for sophisticated electronic, mechanical, computer, and network systems used to create realistic simulated flying environments. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, maintain system and simulator documentation, and ensure training systems remain operational, current, and properly configured.

Perform system and network administration activities, including account management, software installation, system patching, antivirus updates, performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, and workstation network administration. Monitor compliance with applicable policies, standards, and configuration requirements while supporting system upgrades, installations, and ongoing site operations. Who You Are You are a technically skilled systems or network administrator who enjoys troubleshooting complex problems and keeping mission-critical systems operating reliably. You understand Windows-based multi-user computing environments, networking, system administration, software installation, patching, antivirus management, backups, and system documentation. You are comfortable working across both hardware and software environments, can diagnose issues independently, and know how to balance day-to-day operational requirements with configuration, security, and compliance standards.

You communicate effectively, maintain accurate technical documentation, and take ownership of problems through resolution. Basic Qualifications Candidates must have a Final Transferable Secret security clearance, last Periodic Reinvestigation must be within the last six years. Candidates Must be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.

Experience in an environment which required interaction with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature. Knowledge and experience with simulation hardware and software. Ability to read and use technical schematics, drawings and manuals along with other technical materials to resolve complex problems.

Candidate must be willing to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule. Candidate must have a current Security+ certificate or able to acquire a Security + certification within 3 months of hire date. Desired Skills Bachelor's degree.

Current or Previous F-35 Training Device Experience in the Full Mission Simulator (FMS) and/or Mission Rehearsal Trainer (MRT) or experience in a training/modeling and simulation environment. Network troubleshooting and maintenance experience. Experience working in classified/access controlled facilities.

Currently possess a current Security + certificate. System Administration of Windows and/or Linux server environments. Experience with Disaster Recovery methods / cloning / backup solutions.

Experience with Hyper-V / Deploying VHDs / Virtual Computing. Experience with Active Directory / DHCP / DNS / File Shares. Knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth generation aircraft training operations.

Previous experience coordinating with program SMEs, engineers and field service technicians.
