Job description

Mid-Level Linux Systems Administrator Ampersand Solutions Group (AMPERSAND) is seeking a Mid-Level Linux Systems Administrator to support the deployment, hardening, and administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) focused systems within the Closed Restricted Network (CRN) architecture. The Administrator will be responsible for implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), maintaining system compliance artifacts, and conducting day-to-day system operations to support mission requirements and program needs. The Administrator shall support system build-out and sustainment activities associated with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation of an Army Program of Record. Tasks include updating documentation (e.g., System Security Plan, Configuration Management Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan), performing FISMA-required artifact maintenance, conducting vulnerability assessments using approved tools, and supporting the Government in managing POA&M items within eMASS. Responsibilities: * Deploy and configure Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including installation, registration, software provisioning, and baseline configuration.
* Apply DISA STIGs and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs) and maintain compliance documentation.
* Conduct routine system administration, including patch management, service configuration, log review, and troubleshooting of RHEL systems.
* Deploy and administer Linux virtual machines (VMs) in VMware vSphere and OpenShift, including VM creation, configuration, and OS-level troubleshooting.
* Perform vulnerability assessments utilizing SCAP, Nessus, and Evaluate-STIG, and support remediation activities.
* Assist the system ISSO in updating RMF documentation and ensuring system configurations meet accreditation requirements.
* Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel regarding POA&M items, security controls, and compliance verification.
