Job Summary:
1872 Consulting is seeking a DevOps Engineer to manage and expand their AWS-based systems. The role involves overseeing code deployment pipelines, maintaining infrastructure, and contributing to the development processes alongside software engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Triage issues
• Work alongside software engineers to build and maintain developer operation processes and procedures
• Oversee code deployment pipelines
• Oversee our AWS infrastructure using Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tools
• Assist in manual quality assurance activities
• Assist in the creation of automated testing processes
• As a member of the engineering team, contribute to planning and execution efforts across our applications as needed
• Having your code reviewed and participate in code reviews, standups, retros, other SCRUM activities
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Bachelors in CS or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years professional development experience using Amazon Web Services
• At least 2 years professional experience managing Windows and Linux based servers
• At least 2 years professional experience using Python, BASH or similar scripting language
• Strong familiarity with multi-tier web applications
• Bright, motivated, passionate engineers who want to work with the same and are open-minded about applying the best tool for the job and solving real problems for real users
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred:
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, i.e. Terraform, Ansible, Packer, etc.
• Experience with code deployment tools, i.e. Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.
• Experience managing Postgres or MySQL databases
• Experience within a HIPAA bound organization
