D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a National Trainer I. The right candidate will deliver on-site classroom, live virtual, and on-demand training, as applicable. Assist with the development and maintenance of curriculum material and training job guides. Provide production support via a centralized inbox. Participate in training project management, serve on project committees, and collaborate with other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of educational curriculum, related job guides, agenda, communication, and participation for on-site training programs, live virtual sessions, on-demand courses, and mandatory regulatory training, i.e.:
    • New Hire Orientation
    • DHIM Core for Loan Origination and Processing
    • Mortgage Mastery
    • Mortgage 101
    • Process Change Training
    • Software and Technical System Training
    • Regulatory Lessons
    • Optional Professional Development Topics
    • Manage short-term and long-term training projects and serve as a member of assigned project committees
  • Provide loan-level technical and educational support to Production via the Mortgage Training Inbox
  • Utilize training technology, such as presentation design, voice-over recording, graphics animation, audio and video editing, and Learning Management System (LMS) functionality
  • Stay informed of all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to training content and incorporate any necessary updates
  • Collaborate with other training and departmental teammates
  • Complete research and testing tasks as assigned by project leads
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the National Training Team Leads
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve internal and external customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to travel overnight

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two to three years of related mortgage and/or training experience
  • Demonstrate an elevated level of professional writing, proofreading, and editing skills to produce informational and educational content for job guides and national communication
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of various mortgage systems
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or data form
  • Proficiency with all applications in the MS Office suite
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Engaging presentation and learning facilitation skills
