Pay :20/hr - 25/hr

Job Description:

POSITION IS 6 MONTHS FROM START DATE W/ POSSIBLE EXTENSIONS.

POSITION IS ONSITE ONLY IN ALAMEDA CA.

POSITION IS SECOND SHIFT WITH HOURS FROM 1:30 PM TO 10 PM.

Entry Level Lab Technician in the Complaint Investigations Lab (manager requests newly graduated candidates or individuals with a strong technical background).

The Technician will be responsible for:

Unpacking boxes safely and sorting the returned products accordingly by product lines.

Investigating returned products to resolve customer complaints regarding their blood glucose meters, strips & sensors.

The Technician will document complaint investigations in the Complaint Handling System.

The Technician will also use troubleshooting equipment like, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, microscopes, etc. to complete the investigation.

Perform routine maintenance on individual quality records and ensure equipment used for testing is within validity.

• Must Have ~ proficient computer skills to navigate Internet programs used, basic Microsoft Office skills and be able to read, write and comprehend English. Experience in Medical Device / Biotech Industry with a Technical Background is preferred.

• Knowledge of Electronic Troubleshooting is preferred.

• Ability to work in a team setting is a plus.

• Ability to follow written work instructions of SOP’s is required.

• Good documentation skills are a must.

• Good computer skills are essential for this job, since data entry of investigation results is a primary part of the job.

• Ability to focus while performing repetitive and routine investigations is a must.

• Great fit for workers with Inspection and Quality experience.

• Minimum education required is H.S. Diploma or equivalent (such as GED) with technical experience.

• Recent college graduates with a Bachelor’s degree are an ideal fit for this entry level position

Job Description:

This position is Non-Exempt. Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half.

Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical device manufacturing equipment, supporting production issues, assisting with the installation and qualification of production equipment, assisting with equipment maintenance. Takes direction from Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor or higher.

Needs prior 3-5 years experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment and electronic devices down to component level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubles shoots and repairs equipment following ISO/GMP published procedures; Uses schematics, scopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to adjust, repair, maintain, and test electronic equipment. Assist with installation and qualification of production equipment; Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment; Assist with any necessary department responsibilities; Follow established safety procedures and perform duties in a safe manner. Other activities as requested or required by the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. 3 years minimum experience in a related field preferred

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Medical device manufacturing experience and ISO/GMP training an advantage. Experience with Welders, Grinders, Lathes, Mills, Ovens & Lasers. Knowledge of Omron Controllers and other IO relays. Knowledge of Microsoft based computer software programs. Must be a team player. Good attention to detail. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to sit/stand for 2 to 3 hours at a time.
