Job Requirements
Position Summary
The Inventory Technician is responsible for the stocking, ordering, and inventory maintenance of supplies and equipment. Primary duties include unpacking daily deliveries of supplies from the distribution center, stocking shelves in accordance with appropriate inventory method, and maintaining inventory records. The Inventory Technician works collaboratively with department and organizational leadership to ensure quality inventory control to ensure proper inventory availability.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Receives and inventories orders/supplies for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Stock/replenish shelves, carts, and/or rooms utilizing the appropriate inventory method (FIFO, LIFO, etc.)
  • Track ordered supplies to ensure on-time delivery. Comply with any applicable vendor tracking requirements.
  • Routinely check inventory for expiration dates and acts to minimize waste for expired supplies.
  • Properly dispose of damaged or expired product/supplies.
  • Rotate all stock in supply rooms and/or carts as needed.
  • Develops, maintains, and tracks inventory records in a neat and organized manner, adding/editing/deleting items as needed. Maintain adequate and complete records.
  • Track supply usage through departmental expense logs to assist in expense variance analysis.
  • Works with department and organizational leadership to add new supplies as stock items or remove obsolete supplies.
  • Replace any unused stock from rooms/carts, as required.
  • Review backorder reports from current distributor and order clinically approved substitutes items for assigned units. Place backorder cards in bins, as needed.
  • Coordinates equipment repairs and/or loner equipment with repair vendor, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
