Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Painter II is an entry-level role responsible for performing powder-coating and surface-preparation tasks to finish parts according to company and customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Set and operate coating systems by establishing required parameters and running spray guns, booths, and ovens while monitoring equipment performance.
  • Apply and cure powder coatings by following established processes, verifying cure times and temperatures, and ensuring coating integrity throughout the production cycle.
  • Inspect finished parts using visual checks, first-piece inspections, and film-thickness gauges to confirm coating quality, documenting production as required.
  • Support production flow by loading and unloading parts and performing material-handling tasks as needed.
  • All other duties assigned

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To ensure Kelvion's Standard of Excellence, which includes quality, is incorporated into every product we produce.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to Global Code of Business Principles, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Vision and Values, Operational Framework

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
  • Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
  • Must be able to wear respirator
  • Ability to understand powder-coating steps including surface preparation and proper application technique
  • Ability to set and adjust coating equipment such as spray guns, booths, and ovens to meet process requirements.
  • Ability to setand adjust equipment settings for spray guns, booths, and ovens
  • Ability to perform surface-prep tasks using required tools and equipment such as media-blasting equipment or grinders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1 - 2 years of powder coating experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position may require occasional work in outdoor environments and exposure to outside elements, including varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise, dust, and uneven walking surfaces. The employee may be required to move between indoor and outdoor work areas as needed while following all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment.
