Job description

Northwest Permanente (NWP) is the largest multispecialty medical group in Oregon and southwest Washington with 1,500+ physicians and 300+ administrative professionals caring for 615,000+ Kaiser Permanente members. Northwest Permanente is owned and led by physicians who earn competitive salaries, without income based on providing individual services. Our medical group comprises board-certified physicians across 50+ specialties.

Northwest Permanente, P.C. is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Occupational Medicine or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to join our growing medical group at the North Lancaster Medical Office in Salem.

This is an opportunity to practice in a dynamic, mission-driven environment while enjoying the exceptional lifestyle the Salem region offers—from crabbing along the Oregon coast and wine tasting in the Willamette Valley to skiing on Mt. Hood, fishing in pristine rivers, and hiking an extensive network of scenic trails. The area combines natural beauty, accessibility, and a vibrant, welcoming community known for its high quality of life.

Our program delivers high-quality, cost-effective care to injured workers, with a focus on timely return to work and minimizing disability. We partner closely with local employers to provide comprehensive workplace health and safety services that support their business goals, while strengthening the trusted Kaiser Permanente brand through this unique line of service.

You will join a collaborative team of Occupational Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians, along with Nurse Practitioners, supported by a highly skilled Integrated Care team. Our clinics are intentionally staffed with experienced professionals, allowing physicians to focus on delivering exceptional care while enhancing both the patient and employer experience.

Program Highlights:

  • Three Kaiser Permanente On-the-Job clinics are standalone sites located near KP medical office buildings throughout the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area, with dedicated services for occupational injury care. These clinics feature onsite physical therapy and advanced equipment for physical capacity evaluations and work-related rehabilitation. An additional On-the-Job clinic is located within a Salem KP medical office building.
  • All medical office buildings offer a full complement of ancillary services to support comprehensive patient care.
  • We serve a diverse mix of employers across industries including manufacturing, construction, natural resources, and distribution—reflecting the economic vitality of the Salem region.
  • This position offers excellent work-life balance with no call or urgent care responsibilities, and includes both in-person and virtual care. Candidates with experience or interest in telehealth and innovative care delivery models will thrive.

We are seeking a motivated, forward-thinking physician who is excited to contribute to a high-performing team and become part of a thriving community in Salem.

What You Can Expect:
  • An experienced support staff
  • Access to a physician-friendly advanced Epic EMR
  • Opportunities for leadership positions within the medical group if desired
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility
  • 1.0 FTE
We Provide You:
  • Generous automatic employer-funded pension and retirement contributions totaling 21% of clinician eligible earnings with additional employee contribution optional
  • Competitive compensation that is not based on fee-for-service model
  • Pathway for physicians to become shareholders of Northwest Permanente
  • Paid annual education leave + annual education allowance
  • Comprehensive benefits including largely employer-funded medical, dental insurance premiums, life insurance, and paid leave
  • Complete professional liability coverage provided at no cost, 100% reimbursement for obtaining and maintaining board certification, continuing medical education reimbursement, and in-house CME opportunities
  • Total Rewards value range of $310,900 - $381,600

Current hiring incentives for this role:

  • Relocation allowance – up to $15,000
  • Generous hiring bonus

The annual salary for this position is $224,400 - $273,700 which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other relevant factors. In addition to the salary range above, NWP offers rich benefits that add substantial value to the total compensation package.
