Job description

Our New Teammate

You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure to support our state agency clients. You will work within an exciting team and continue your development under the tutelage of our talented engineering department.

You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following:

  • 85% of time on Objective 1: Customer Project and Solutions
  • 10% of time on Objective 2: Prioritization, Planning, and Scheduling
  • 5% of time on Objective 3: Professional growth and development


Job Responsibilities - What to Expect

  • Assist with the preparation and physical implementation of network equipment as part of new deployments or equipment refreshes.
  • Assist with creation of design and project proposals to meet customer requirements.
  • Installation of new equipment as part of a new deployment, break/fix, or equipment refresh.
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Support operations as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Assist with lab testing and validation of new hardware and code.
  • Assist with creation of maintenance plans and documentation as part of change control.
  • Conduct site surveys for future network deployments and generate report of findings.


Your Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or engineering related field (Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in a computer related field.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation (Preferred)
  • JNCIA or CCNA (Required)
  • Previous experience in production network environments and on-call responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of wireless networking.
  • Understanding and familiarity with network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP, Spanning Tree, and MPLS.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Previous experience with the creation and maintenance of documentation such as operating procedures and network diagrams.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time, priority, and task management skills.
  • Familiarity with Service Provider networks a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks concurrently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Python and Ansible experience a plus.


**Work Environment: This position is a Hybrid role with onsite requirements. Candidates must be in Maryland to fulfill these requirements.**
