Job description

Sun-Maid Growers of California is currently looking for a skilled entry level or journeyman electrician to add to our growing team. In this role, it will be your job to repair and install electrical systems. We'll ask you to perform these tasks for an Industrial Facility.
As a journeyman electrician, you will be asked to complete a wide variety of tasks. You should be able to perform inspections and conduct assessments of electrical systems. You should also be able to read blueprints and interpret them to determine the best way to solve problems in an electrical system. To accomplish all of this, you will need to have a deep familiarity with wiring, commonly used electrical tools, and various components. We're hoping to hire an entry level or journeyman electrician who has already completed an electrician apprenticeship, but we are open to considering the right candidate who has not.

The Electrician shall be responsible for:
โ€ข Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints
โ€ข Installing electrical conduits, cables, and tubing
โ€ข Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
โ€ข Performing work from tall heights and on mobile man lifts
โ€ข Climbing ladders, scaffolding and stairs
โ€ข Performing electrical work in adverse weather conditions and temperatures
โ€ข Using and maintaining hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, and drills
โ€ข Use a variety of tools and techniques to repair and maintain electrical systems
โ€ข Use your knowledge to determine the best way to install new electrical systems
โ€ข Diagnosing electrical system malfunctions and failures
โ€ข Troubleshooting, Critical thinking skills, Decision making skills, Attention to detail, and Researching skills
โ€ข Ensure that you follow all safety requirements and OSHA guidelines while you work
Requirements:
โ€ข Minimum 1 year of training or experience which has provided a basic working knowledge in the field.
โ€ข Lockout/tag out procedures and follow all OSHA and company policies and best practices.
โ€ข Must have basic electrical skills, and the ability to work with basic hand tools.
โ€ข Learn to read and understand basic blueprints, schematics, repair manuals
โ€ข Learn to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment
โ€ข Good problem solving and critical thinking skills.
โ€ข Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
โ€ข Good mathematical skills.
โ€ข Lifting heavy objects
โ€ข Standing, bending, and crouching for long periods of time
โ€ข Willing to pursue Certificate in Electrical Technology or Associates in Electrical Engineering
