Job description

Household names like S'well bottle, Bombas and Simplisafe were all Grommet discoveries - in those cases and thousands of others, we help Makers launch products with brand and distribution control to be successful when they graduate from our launch platform.
The Staff Accountant role is responsible for daily accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, weekly check runs, and cash management activities. In addition to assisting with the day-to-day management of our working capital needs, the staff accountant will assist with various tasks and journal entry preparation and ledger reconciliation during the month-end accounting close cycle. This role will report to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile daily and monthly cash activity
  • Prepare weekly check run
  • Calculate cash on hand to help support the determination of weekly cash needs
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts; prepare related journal entries
  • Review incoming invoices for accuracy and input into accounting system; investigate and reconcile any discrepancies
  • Manage accounts receivable activity including creating and sending customer invoices and weekly account statements
  • Correspond with customers and team members via email and telephone
  • Release and reconcile credit memos for both customers and vendors
  • Become an integral part of the month end close process
  • Ad hoc projects, as needed

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree, in Accounting, business, finance or related field
  • 2+ years of related experience preferred; entry level welcome to apply
  • Experience working with Excel & Google applications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with accounting software, NetSuite is a plus
