Entry IT Support Specialist

DHD Consulting

Fort Lee, NJ

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

We are seeking an Entry IT Support Specialist to help maintain and troubleshoot technical systems and support smooth day-to-day IT operations.

This is an entry-level position where you will begin with hands-on IT support and equipment management and gradually grow into more advanced technical responsibilities.

We actively use AI tools in our daily work, so comfort with AI assistants and an interest in learning new technology are important from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software, and network issues, including laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT support requests within established service guidelines

  • Track and manage IT equipment and assets, including monitors, computers, and peripherals

  • Assist with equipment setup, upgrades, replacements, and new-hire onboarding

  • Administer and troubleshoot Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive, Sheets, and Groups

  • Maintain troubleshooting documentation and procedures for common technical issues

  • Assist with routine system maintenance, security updates, and backup/recovery procedures

  • Help maintain reporting dashboards in Google Data Studio, including basic updates to tables and fields

  • Use AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to improve troubleshooting, documentation, and scripting

  • Work with the IT team to identify opportunities to improve support processes and workflows

Who Thrives in This Role

You enjoy being the person others come to when something stops working.

You may set up a new employee's laptop, troubleshoot a printer issue, manage Google Workspace accounts, update an IT asset list, or find a way to use AI to automate a repetitive task.

The ideal candidate is curious, proactive, patient, and willing to learn. You are comfortable trying new tools independently, but you also know when to ask questions rather than make assumptions.

You take ownership of requests from start to finish, keep people informed of progress, and follow through until the issue is resolved.

This role may not be a good fit for someone who prefers a narrow, highly structured ticket queue with limited interruptions or variety.

Growth Opportunity

As you gain experience, you will have opportunities to take on more advanced technical responsibilities, including:

  • Maintaining and enhancing internal business applications

  • Developing internal automation and tools

  • Working with TypeScript and React

  • Expanding reporting and data capabilities

  • Supporting data pipelines and other technology initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 0–1+ years of IT support or related experience; entry-level candidates are welcome

  • Proficiency troubleshooting hardware and software issues across Windows and macOS

  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewalls

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java

  • Comfort using AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini for drafting, debugging, research, and problem-solving

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient and approachable attitude

  • Ability to learn unfamiliar tools independently without requiring step-by-step instructions

  • Ability to take ownership of requests from intake through resolution and communicate clearly when escalation is needed

  • Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English, both written and verbal

  • Willingness and flexibility to handle a broad range of IT-related and general support responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to AI coding-assistant tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini CLI

  • Familiarity with structured prompt design

  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Basic knowledge of databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

  • Experience with TypeScript, React, or Next.js

  • Experience building dashboards using Google Data Studio or similar BI tools

  • Interest or experience in logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or related industries

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Google IT Support

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance

  • Paid Vacation, Sick Days, and Holidays

  • Performance Bonuses

  • Educational Training Reimbursement

  • Employee Referral Incentives

  • Daily Lunch Allowance

  • Team Lunches & Dinners

  • Fitness Membership Reimbursement

  • Employee Birthday Gifts

  • Recognition & Service Year Awards
