This role also operates as a hybrid Project Manager/Scrum Master, serving as a bridge between the Scrum Master of a newly formed agile domain and the Project Manager function for any budgeted or enterprise-level projects within that domain — ensuring alignment between day-to-day agile team execution and broader portfolio, budget, and stakeholder reporting needs. Projects will vary supporting multiple business topics including Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Finance/Accounting, Partner/Product Management, and our Technology team. The ideal candidate will have solid Project Management experience delivering in Agile and has a working knowledge of Scrum practices, as well as having excellent communication skills. This position may require minor travel for project kickoffs or meetings at key project inflection points.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Work with Information Systems, Product Management, and Business stakeholders to create, plan and prioritize project elements based on project objectives, cost/benefit considerations, risk, timing, capacity, and interdependencies.
  • Provide proactive and consistent reporting and communication on project status, and demand utilization.
  • Define, document, and iterate on the key processes including roles, activities, artifacts, workflows, and change processes. Continuously assess process to ensure new opportunities to increase effectiveness.
  • Assure understanding and control of sync points and dependencies between projects being managed in comparison to other initiatives in EBG’s project portfolio.
  • Proactively and creatively drive project timelines/deadlines in a highly matrixed organization with frequently changing priorities.
  • Serves as primary contact for project status and performance.
  • Ability to lead groups, employ strategic thinking, and direct involvement in delivering against targets.
  • Understanding of software development and infrastructure project lifecycles in both agile and waterfall development approaches.
  • Manage and lead project risk assessment evaluation and mitigation activities on projects under management.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new project requirements on an existing team workload including impact to schedule.
  • Address and/or escalate project related issues in a timely fashion.
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and reporting as required in supporting the business case for projects and driving prioritization decisions based on quantifiable factors.
  • Stay current on project management best practices and provide expertise.

Scrum Master

  • Serve as a Scrum Master for a newly established agile domain, facilitating core team Scrum ceremonies (Sprint planning, daily standups, sprint review and retrospectives).
  • Help identify and remove impediments to team progress, escalating risks and/or blockers appropriately.
  • Support maintenance of agile artifacts such as product/sprint backlogs, burndown/burnup charts, and velocity metrics, translating them into portfolio-level status reporting.
  • Coach teams and stakeholders on agile principles and practices, promoting a self-organizing, continuously improving team environment.
  • Serve as a bridge between the domain’s Scrum Master role and the enterprise Project Management function, ensuring budgeted and enterprise-level work is accurately reflected in sprint planning, backlogs, and delivery timelines,
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, project management or other related degree.
  • 3+ years of successful project management or scrum experience managing large-scale software initiatives through all phases of the development life cycle.

  • Able to balance tactical day-to-day project execution with strategic sprint planning and roadmap alignment.
  • Understanding of API's in software / web development.
  • Proven ability to develop strong partnerships with peers and other team members, influencing decision making at all levels without formal reporting structure authority.
  • Experience leading projects and programs within and outside of IT, as well as projects and programs that involved external providers, encompassing iterative and agile development.
  • Outstanding presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Vendor management and procurement experience with external labor resources delivering projects.
