Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Project Manager to join our team and drive successful project execution. This position will plan, manage, and implement small to medium sized projects utilizing repeatable project management standards and practices. This position works cross functionally to analyze risks, create and maintain project artifacts, manages timelines, deadlines and reporting. In addition, this position coordinates and communicates vendor activities and assists in the Project Justification (PIJ) and System Security Plan (SSP) as required in projects. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.
This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).

Job Duties:
  • Manages small to medium-sized projects; leads planning and/or implementation of projects; manages projects based on repeatable standards and practices where possible, but also may require defining new approaches.
  • Facilitates the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; manages project budget and resource allocation; works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes.
  • Resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; monitors project or area progress and escalates as appropriate; proactively and routinely identifies, mitigates and reports project risks.
  • Assists with developing and submitting the Project Justification (PIJ); coordinates and assists with submitting the System Security Plan (SSP) as required in projects.
  • Coordinates the definition of service levels and customer requirements; participates in the design and testing phases.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical project management, with specific proficiency in PMBOK principles.
  • An understanding of state government structures and the specific statutes, rules, and regulations as they pertain to the Department and section.
  • Fluent in internal methodologies, tools, and procedures, including adherence to confidentiality protocols.
  • Proficient in researching and compiling complex information.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office and G-Suite/Google Workspace.

  • Proficient in managing complex projects and utilizing effective time-management strategies to meet objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively with diverse with a wide range of internal and external customers.
