Job description

Job Title: IT Hardware Logistics & Inventory Specialist
Role Overview
We are seeking a Hardware Logistics & Inventory Specialist to manage the operational flow of our IT equipment. This is a hands-on role that keeps our technical infrastructure organized and accessible. You will be the point person for all hardware logistics-receiving new devices, configuring equipment for deployment, managing returns, and maintaining the accuracy of our asset inventory.
This position is perfect for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where "physical meets digital." If you take pride in maintaining pristine inventory records, enjoy setting up hardware, and want to support the operational backbone of a growing technical team, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Device Provisioning & Lifecycle
• Equipment Preparation: Configure laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals to ensure they are ready for immediate use. Manage desk configurations and hardware setup for new additions to the team.
• Asset Tracking: Maintain 100% inventory accuracy. Track the full lifecycle of every device from arrival and assignment to transfer and retirement.
• Return & Redeployment: Manage the processing of returned hardware. Inspect, wipe, and prepare devices for re-deployment, vendor repairs, or warranty claims.
Logistics & Inventory Control
• Receiving & Shipping: Receive incoming shipments, verify against purchase orders, and coordinate the packaging and shipping of hardware to remote and local team members.
• Inventory Audits: Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies to ensure our digital tracking matches our physical stock.
• Support & Documentation: Help manage the equipment request queue, ensuring that ticket backlogs remain low and that all documentation for equipment movement is up to date.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: 1-2+ years of experience in logistics, inventory control, warehouse operations, or entry-level IT hardware support.
• Technical Mastery: Basic computer literacy (comfortable navigating OS settings, setting up peripherals, and using basic asset management software).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to handle a hands-on work environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and moving equipment as needed.
• Organization: Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Attributes
• A proactive, "customer-first" mindset; you understand that the reliability of your hardware logistics directly impacts the team's productivity.
• Experience using ticketing or inventory management software.
• Strong written communication skills-you can clearly document equipment serial numbers, shipping details, and status updates.
