Job description

The Office of the State Auditor seeks a Senior Legislative IT Auditor I to conduct risk-based IT performance audits assessing whether governmental IT and information security programs operate effectively and in compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. The position is located in Denver Metro and involves planning, fieldwork, findings development, report preparation, and Legislative Audit Committee presentations. This role is part of the IT Audit Division within Colorado's independent, nonpartisan legislative agency.

Key qualifications
  • One or more years of professional IT audit experience, including one year at the IT senior auditor level or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in information technology, information security/assurance, management information systems (MIS), computer science, or computer engineering
  • Active CISA certification or attainment within 18 months of hire date
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) and internal control standards (Green Book, COSO)
  • Experience with IT auditing standards and frameworks (COBIT, IIA GTAGs, FISCAM, NIST SP 800-53, ISO/IEC 27001)
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
