Job description

We are looking for an IT Project Manager / Application Support & Azure Modernization Consultant to support the client with project management, IT application support, Azure modernization planning, database analysis, data storage optimization, and technical coordination across business, administrative, and IT teams. This role will be responsible for managing project artifacts, communicating scope and schedule status, supporting websites, applications, and databases, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating vendor services, and helping the client evaluate current-state environments while planning future-state Azure-based solutions.

Requirements
  • Experience in IT project management roles.
  • Experience in IT application support roles.
  • Experience supporting applications in Microsoft Azure and/or administering Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Experience with data storage optimization, including capacity, performance, access patterns, retention, and data classification review.
  • Experience performing database analysis across legacy systems, application databases, and structured data environments.
  • Experience supporting Azure modernization initiatives, including cloud migration planning, consolidation, re-architecture, or Azure-based future-state design.
  • Azure Administrator certification.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL databases.
  • Experience with ShareFile.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • Experience with Drupal.
  • Experience with Acquia.
  • Experience with OnContact.
  • Experience installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting websites, applications, and databases.
  • Experience coordinating with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and consultant resources.
  • Strong documentation, communication, requirements gathering, and knowledge transfer skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project management support, including project artifacts, scope tracking, schedule tracking, stakeholder communication, dependency management, and project sequencing.
  • Define project initiatives, outcomes, deliverables, risks, timelines, and resource needs to ensure successful completion.
  • Install, configure, support, and troubleshoot websites, applications, and databases.
  • Provide second-level application support by researching, diagnosing, escalating, and resolving website, application, database, and access-related issues.
  • Manage remote access to systems and support day-to-day operational needs for software applications.
  • Plan, execute, and support complex software solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
  • Manage vendor purchase requests, subscriptions, contracts, payments, and professional services engagements.
  • Implement, support, and manage chatbot-related solutions.
  • Conduct current-state assessments of data storage environments, including storage capacity, performance, access patterns, bottlenecks, retention practices, and sensitivity classifications.
  • Analyze legacy databases, application databases, and structured data environments to identify dependencies, inefficiencies, scalability concerns, and modernization opportunities.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Translate assessment findings into technical documentation, recommendations, future-state designs, and Azure modernization strategies.
  • Provide guidance on Azure data services, including Azure SQL, storage accounts, Data Lake, and related Azure platform capabilities.
  • Support cloud migration planning, proof-of-concept initiatives, phased implementation roadmaps, and consolidation strategies.
  • Perform testing on websites, applications, and databases.Review software and hardware packages and advise selection teams on security implications and risk mitigation requirements.
  • Coordinate activities with client divisions, internal IT teams, and consultant IT resources.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to State staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
