Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

Our team is looking for an IT Business Analyst for the online policy change product team.


As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role as an interpreter and facilitator with different business units, IT, and the quality assurance team. You will be at the heart of a small team whose mission is to continuously create and enhance the features of our programs, aiming to offer the best product not only in the insurance field but also on the web in general. At Intact, we always strive for the best customer experiences.


What you'll do here:

  • Analyze business needs to define IT solutions.
  • Facilitate/participate in business requirements workshops to specify IT solutions.
  • Conduct impact analyses and effort estimations to propose, get approval for, and then document the IT solution using effective methods and interacting with both business domain users and the IT project team.
  • Support the development of solutions and the technical analyses conducted.
  • Support quality assurance activities and acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner in defining and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Document user stories in a way that is understood by developers and the quality assurance team.
  • Identify and communicate the impacts on business processes to support change management in business units in a train-the-trainer approach.
  • Build and maintain functional documentation that is robust, accurate, and accessible to all company stakeholders.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or any combination of education and experience equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Project experience in Scrum mode.
  • Experience and knowledge in the insurance field.
  • Experience and knowledge of web environment applications.
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence.
  • Bilingualism. Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
