Job Overview & Responsibilities
At United Launch Alliance (ULA), the Network Administrator 1 is an entry-level role designed for individuals beginning their career in IT infrastructure. This position supports the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization's network environment. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate from a technical field who is eager to learn, grow, and develop hands-on experience with enterprise network systems. Under the guidance of senior team members, this role will help ensure reliable connectivity, assist in basic issue resolution, and contribute to ongoing network improvements.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, switches, routers, firewalls, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP
  • Basic experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting methodologies and ticketing systems
  • Willingness to learn and follow established processes and documentation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or hands-on academic project experience involving network support or administration
  • Exposure to enterprise networking technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, or similar platforms
  • Basic understanding of network monitoring tools
  • Any entry-level certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar)
  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python) is a plus but not required
