Job description

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.
Summary
The Cash Receipts Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of domestic and international payments to support companywide cash application processes. This role ensures that financial transactions are recorded correctly, accounts are fully reconciled, and all payment applications meet internal accuracy standards. The technician will work closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve inquiries, support business operations, and maintain strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Activities
  • Accurately posts payments to customer accounts and general ledger accounts across all business units.
  • Processes a high volume of domestic and global payments, including live checks, ACH/WIRE transfers, and lockbox transactions, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Performs regular reconciliation of accounts receivable to ensure all payments are properly recorded and accounted for.

Administrative Tasks
  • Sorts, organizes, and maintains clerical records and reports.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to internal teams as needed.

Internal & External Support
  • Responds to inquiries from internal accounting, finance, and credit teams to ensure accurate payment posting.
  • Provides analysis and interpretation of posted payments to support resolution of discrepancies and respond to customer or internal requests.

Typical Education
A bachelor's degree is desirable; however, not required.
