Ignite is hiring a Recruiting Intern for the Summer term 2026 in Huntsville, AL.
The Recruiting Assistant plays a critical role in supporting high-volume and compliance-driven recruiting efforts within a government contracting environment. This position is heavily focused on candidate screening and qualification review, ensuring applicants meet contract requirements, clearance criteria, and regulatory standards before advancing in the hiring process.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Post and manage job requisitions across cleared job boards and internal systems
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers
  • Maintain accurate candidate data in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Perform structured phone screens to assess candidate alignment with role requirements
  • Conduct initial resume reviews against contract requirements, labor categories, and minimum qualifications
  • Screen candidates for security clearance eligibility/status (e.g., active, interim, eligible)
  • Verify required elements such as citizenship, certifications, education, and years of experience
  • Flag discrepancies or risks (gaps, ineligible candidates, clearance issues) for recruiter review
  • Maintain detailed and compliant screening notes
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Support audits and reporting related to compliance and hiring activity
  • Assist with recruitment metrics and pipeline tracking

Qualifications
Education:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Experience:
  • 1-3 years of administrative, recruiting, or HR support experience preferred
  • Experience in technical recruiting perferred

Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and candidate engagement skills
  • High level of discretion when handling sensitive candidate information
  • Ability to interpret job descriptions, labor categories, and contract requirements
