Job Description

Do you yearn to learn? Do you love adding trademark symbols to everything everywhere? Cricut is looking for a smart self-starter with experience in the intellectual property landscape. You will assist in protecting Cricut's growing intellectual property portfolio, enforcing IP rights, reviewing agreements and researching cutting edge topics supporting our Intellectual Property Legal Team.

Essential Functions

  • Be interested and passionate about protecting the company's intellectual property
  • Assist with patent and trademark searches 
  • Be willing to play detective in uncovering malfeasance through regular online monitoring
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with positivity and professionalism, and a sense of humor 
  • Maintain patent, trademark and copyright dockets
  • File patent, trademark, and copyright applications and outgoing prosecution items with the USPTO and Copyright Office
  • Keep oversight of filings and other projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget
  • Prepare scintillating slide decks regarding IP updates and other legal issues involving the company
  • Timely review and respond to incoming correspondence from patent offices and foreign counsel
  • Respond professionally to Cricut member IP-related questions
  • Efficiently perform legal research assignments
  • Be curious about best industry practices and both business and legal developments
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of patents, copyrights, and trademarks, and other IP matters
  • Experience with foreign and domestic patent prosecution and maintenance
  • Positive demeanor with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Legal search methodologies and enforcement protocols
  • Superior analytical and communication skills with ability to change communication style based on need
