Associate Casualty Claims Adjuster
SUMMARY
Entry level position to adjust first and third-party claims involving complex losses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete the claims training program through classroom study, hands on training, and independent study. The training program lasts approximately six months but is determined on a case by case basis.
• Investigate, evaluate, and conclude casualty claims of complex nature. Adjustment of losses in excess of $5,000 required.
• Aptitude for first and third-party claims.
• Collaborate with teammates to effectively navigate claims.
• Investigate and evaluate coverage issues.
• Consistently support company, departmental, and managerial decisions through positive interpretation, application and communication of company information and policies to fellow employees, agents, and customers.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must be coachable and learn from constructive criticism.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Sound judgement and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE
• College Bachelor’s degree preferred
Consideration will be given to applicants with an associate's degree. Work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry is preferred but not required.
• Individuals and who have demonstrated a desire to learn through the completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses desired.
• Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.
