Program Description:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program prepares students with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed to provide safe, compassionate, and respectful care to patients. Students learn basic nursing skills, personal care, infection prevention, communication, safety procedures, and other responsibilities expected of a CNA.
Patient care and personal hygiene
Bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
Feeding and assisting with meals
Measuring and recording vital signs
Safe patient transfers and positioning
Infection control and prevention
CPR and basic emergency procedures, when included in the program
Patient rights and confidentiality
Communication and professional behavior
Dementia and elderly care
Proper documentation and reporting
Workplace safety and professionalism
Meet the minimum age and education requirements established by the state/program.
